This time last year I was emailing with Andrea to prepare for her wedding in only a couple of days! Last weekend we got together and shot their one year anniversary session.
Andrea so carefully picked out her wedding details that I knew her anniversary details would be just as thoughtful! From her custom wine label, on their champagne to her gown, each was specially chosen.
I love when past brides and grooms turn into repeat clients! Especially for anniversary sessions. Its the same connection, but calmer. More comfortable. There's such an ease between couples at anniversary sessions.
Congratulations Andrea + Marcos on your first wedding anniversary!

When I first began emailing Meghan it was when we were on a trip to Vermont. Bless her heart, she included pictures of their proposal which was on top of a mountain after she climbed up! I proceeded to email her back a picture of my current surroundings which were looking up a similar rock wall. "Yay, another outdoors couple!"
I knew we would love working with them right then and there.
When discussing locations for their engagement session, only one seemed to be perfect for them. We shot their session in Patapsco State Park, at the Cascade Falls area.
It was the first really cold morning of the season, and it was perfection. We laughed and laughed. Their love is so genuine. Their connection is so apparent. Their friendship is strong. I loved being witness to this relationship, this partnership set against the simple beauty of nature.
We are very much looking forward to their wedding next November!
They met in DC. They started a relationship in DC. They got engaged while following the Nationals on a road trip.
What better place to do their engagement session than DC?!
Emily (great name), wanted DC as the backdrop of their engagement session, but didn't want "to be obviously DC" I knew what she meant. She did want any dips in front of the White House, or strolls down the Mall. She wanted the DC where their relationship grew and blossomed.
We started their session in front of the bar they met at, Queen Vic. I can see why they wanted to get some pictures there, SO COLORFUL and fun!
Next, we went to the street where Emily used to live. They have gorgeous, multicolored townhouses right by the train tracks that Emily loved watching. I also coincidentally got eaten alive (20 bug bites guys, 20!!!) while doing her ring shot here.
We finished up their session just as the sun was setting, at Union Station. They had walked through here many times and it decidedly felt very DC. Personally, I think train stations and airports are quite romantic and adventurous! I like the hustle and bustle. The coming and going. The saying hello and goodbye. Adventures departing and stories coming to a close. The kisses, the hugs and the tears. Easy to compare to the adventures these two are about to embark on in their marriage.
Congratulations Emily + Brian!
Undoubtedly, it's been a ridiculously long time since I've blogged. OOPS. But I have to tell you guys, I was busy doing life. And sometimes blogging just doesn't fit into that. I always have these lofty goals that I'll work on my blogging, and I do great for about 2 months and then fall off hard. This time is no exception. I do promise some blog posts coming down the line soon!
So lets start with Ann + Shaun! We did their engagement session at Freedom Park in Sykesville where Shaun proposed to Ann! And let me tell you about Ann. It is incredibly flattering as a photographer, to have a potential client chase you down for 2 years before her wedding date. She kept checking in to see if I was booking 2017 every couple of months. And where I was, their wedding was the first on our calendar!
Ann has the sweetest smile, and Shaun is so gentle. I loved how they interact with each other. There's an ease about them. Comfort. It made for the most genuine engagement photos.
I'm so looking forward to their wedding next May at the Baltimore Zoo (word on the street is there is going to be a penguin!) where once again the dream team comes together to produce another great wedding! Dream team? I mean of course, my best friend Caitlin, of Caitlin Krebs Events.
I'm so excited to share this wedding with you all!
A gorgeous vineyard with rolling hills set the stage for their special day! Surrounded by family and friends (and another Emily Jane Bride + Groom) they tied the knot!
I love how in love they are with one another! Every time I looked at them, they had the biggest grins on their faces! I think though, my favorite part of the whole day was when we stole outside for 5 minutes right at sunset and captured a few more portraits! I think you'll see why!
It's so hard for me when weddings are over, because I really grow to know and care about my couples, and this one was no exception. Its always an honor to participate in someone's wedding. I tear up when they tear up, I grin when they grin. However, it's not goodbye, just see you later with these two, because they are going to be in another Emily Jane Wedding next spring!
C+C, I'm so thrilled for you, and we had the best time capturing your day. You have the biggest hearts and know that your marriage will be full of love! See you next year!
xoxo.
